My name is Ojasvi, and honestly, joining this platform made me feel a little lighter. It feels good to have a place where we can share our feelings and problems without being judged.
I have been working in the same company for the last 10 years. In the beginning, everything felt rewarding. My hard work was noticed, promotions came on time, and I felt motivated to do better every year. But slowly, things started changing.
Now, no matter how much effort I put in, nobody seems to notice. This year hurt the most… I did not even get an increment. Watching others move ahead while I stayed in the same place broke something inside me.
Sometimes I feel office politics matters more than hard work.
The biggest reason I cannot leave this job is my family. My office is close to my home, and I also get work-from-home flexibility whenever needed. Because of this, I am able to manage both my job and my family responsibilities. Deep down, I feel my boss also understands that I cannot leave easily… and maybe that is why I am no longer treated fairly.
Every morning I wake up with the same confusion in my heart — should I continue adjusting silently for my family, or should I finally think about my own growth and self-respect?
I don’t know what the right decision is anymore. I just know that staying in a place where your efforts are ignored slowly makes you lose confidence in yourself.
Sometimes during office meetings, I sit quietly and wonder where the old confident Ojasvi disappeared.
Earlier, I used to share ideas fearlessly, but now I overthink even before speaking.
The saddest part is not the lack of promotion… it is the feeling of being invisible after giving so many years to one company.
There are days when I cry silently after logging out from work.
My family thinks work from home has made my life easier, but they do not see the mental pressure I carry every single day.
I smile in front of everyone because I do not want my children to feel my stress.
Many times, I open job portals at night and then quietly close them again out of fear and confusion.
Starting somewhere new after 10 years feels scary.
But somewhere deep inside, I still hope that one day I will find a workplace where experience, loyalty, and hard work are truly valued.
Until then, I am just trying to stay strong… one day at a time.
