My name is Anika, and today was my first day at engineering college. To be honest, I was excited and nervous at the same time.
The night before, I could hardly sleep. So many thoughts were running through my mind. How would my classmates be? Would I make new friends? What if I couldn't fit in?
In the morning, I got ready much earlier than usual. My parents were even more excited than I was. Before leaving, my mother gave me a hug and said, "Just be yourself." Those words stayed with me throughout the day.
As I entered the college campus, I was amazed by the huge buildings, laboratories, and the crowd of students. Everything looked so different from school. For a few minutes, I felt completely lost.
Then I met a few girls who were also looking for their classroom. We started talking and soon realized that all of us were feeling the same nervousness. That conversation made me feel much more comfortable.
The orientation session was interesting. The professors spoke about innovation, technology, and the opportunities waiting for us. Listening to them made me realize that I was finally beginning a new chapter of my life.
Of course, there were some funny moments too. I got confused between different blocks, almost entered the wrong classroom, and spent ten minutes searching for the canteen!
By the end of the day, my fear had slowly turned into excitement. I had made a few new friends, explored a small part of the campus, and felt a little more confident.
When I came home, my parents eagerly asked, "How was your first day?"
With a smile on my face, I replied, "It was scary, exciting, confusing, and wonderful—all at the same time."
And that is how my engineering journey began. A journey filled with dreams, challenges, friendships, and countless memories waiting to be created. ❤️
